people to whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know it that I
William Collier of the parish of Saint Andrew and County of
Brunswick for and in Consideration of the love and affection which I
have and bear unto my son in law David Lucas and to his Children of
the same parish and county aforesaid and after his death to fall to
the said children of the said David Lucas and Elizabeth his wife and
be equally divided between the said children and to their heirs and
assigns forever and for their ascernment and perferment in this
world have given granted and confirmed and by those presents do
freely and absolutely give grant and confirm unto David Lucas and to
his children and to their heirs and assigns forever one Negro Wench
namely Judith and the child Aggy to have and to hold the said Negros
with all their increase there unto belonging unto the said David
Lucas and to his children and to their heirs and assigns....In
witness whereof I William Collier have hereunto set my hand and
assign my said seal this 25 Day of April in the year of son & Christ

In the Name of God amen I William Collier of the
parish of Staint Andrews in the County of Brunswick being in perfect
Health and of sound memory do make and ordain this my last Will and
Testament in manner Following
Item I Give and Bequeath to my son in law David Lucas and Elizabeth
his wife Two Cows and Calves or Yearling and fifty Shillings Current
money of Virginia.
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my son Howell Collier and his Heirs
for ever one Negros Fellow named Cain also one Negro Wench named
Hannah the stock of Cattle the increase of a mair colled Willobe
that has been on the Plantation provided that he will pay and
Delivir unto my son Nathan Collier the old mair and eight head of
Cattle young and old when demanded in case he refuses or neglects so
to do then my Will is that my son Nathaniel Collier have the stock
of Cattle herein before given to my son Howell likewise the increase
of the mair before mentioned I also Give him the cross cutt saw that
he hath now in possess on (likewise the other bed now is his
possession) on my Will is that it be sold and the money equally
divided between my two sons Howell & Nathaniel I also give him one
Large stone jugg.
Item I Give and bequeath unto my son Lewis Collier and his Heirs for
ever one Negro Fellow named Great Dick one Negro Girl named Hannah
eight Head of Cattle young and old ten head of Hoggs and Twenty
Pounds Current money of Virginia Likewise.
Item I Give and Bequeath to my son Nathaniel Collier and his Heirs
for ever the uper half of my Tract of Land in Lunenburg County on
Dockery Creek the other half which I have made over to my son Howell
Containing about Three Hundred and twenty acres back here in before
mentioned have been Divided by me with a straight line one Three
Creek at a White Oak thence to the head of Whetstone Branch to Three
black jacks one Negro Fellow named Jack one Negro Girl named Tabb
the eight head of Cattle that my son Howell is to Deliver him and
likewise the mair half of my Hoggs on my Plantation on on Meherrin a
non ? Virginia Tick to filld with nero Feathers that is in the House
his Rugg Blankets and a non Sheet a horse colled snip windle sadle
and houseing four pewter Dishes and six pewter Plates five pewter
spoons three chears two leather bottom the other rush bottom one
nero chest one small iron pott one cattle heffon half the black
walnott blank that is half my part at nuhherring one frying pan dand
twelve pounds current money of Virginia one Drawing knife one Gallon
Jugg likewise the fifth part of tobacco made on my plantation in the
year 1759.
Item To my son in law James Harrison and Sarah his wife During their
natural lives my negro wench Sue and her child Ben and after their
decease I give and Bequeath them to be Equally Divided amongst their
children. Children lawfully begotten of their bodys Together to them
and their Heirs for ever them and their Incrase one mair and cold
the mair Colled Benny, Three Cows and Claves or yearlings four head
og hoggs one pewter dish one small trunk one small brass kettle and
five pounds current money of Virginia.
Item I Give and bequeath unto my son Moses Collier Two Negroes named
Roger and Phillice to him and his Heirs for ever Likewise five
hundred acres of land it being the tract I now live on to him and
his Heirs for ever. Likewise the Bed I now lie on and a new Green
Rugg with a good Blankett and Sheet a Mair Called Peggin with a
bridle and sadle eight head of cattle young and old ten head of
hoggs four sheep four pewter Dishes six plates six one Iron Pott,
two leather Bottom Chairs one Rush bottom one chest one gun called
mine one stone Jugg six glass bottles one book called the six
considerations upon amnesty one hand saw one drawing knife one
pewter bason one gum pott.
Item I Give and bequeath unto my son Drury Collier three hundred
eighty and four acres of Land lying and being on Canes Swamp and Two
negroes named Honeyball and pratt to him and his Heirs for
Item I give and bequeath to my son Frederick Collier fore Negroes
George James/Little Dick/ and Lucey to him and his Heirs for ever
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my son William Collier my Tract of
Land on the North side of Meherring in Brunswick County containing
Three Hundred Twenty eight acres to him and his Heirs for ever with
all the Stock of Cattle and eleven barrills of Corn and half the
stock of the other half of which I have Given before to my son
Nathaniel also Three Negroes Named Beck Bob and Nan my will that the
Plantation on the said Land with the Stock of Cattle and Hoggs and
the eleven Barrells of Corn be rented out to the Highest bider not
for to work more than Two hands a year and for to have good fencing
with good bond and security for the Delivery of all when my said son
William coms to the age of eighteen. I also give to my son to him
and his Heirs for ever one Negro boy named Bachus.
Item I appoint my three sons Howell Collier and my son Nathaniel
Collier and my son Moses Collier Whole and Sole Executors to
fullfill this my last Will and Testament and the Remainder Part of
my estat not Mentioned after my Lawfull Debts be paid I ggive to be
Equally Divided Between my three sons Fredercik Collier, Drury
Collier and William Collier. Given under my hand this 13th Day o

At a Court held for Brunswick County 26 November 1759 This will was
Presented by the Exors therein named who made oath to according to
Law and the same being proved bu tje witnesses thereto and ordered
to be recorded and on the motion of the said Exors who entered into
bond with Thomas Twitty, John Maclin and Thomas Merritt their
security's in the Penalty of Two Thousand Pounds Condition according
to Law certificate is granted them for obtaining a probate thereof

In the Name of God Amen, I Elizabeth Smith of the Parish of Saint
Andrews the County Greensville being very sick and weak in body but
of perfect and sound mind do make and ordain this to be my last will
and testament revoking and disannuling all other Wills by me
formerly made my soul I give to God who gave it me and to Jesus
Christ my blessed Saviour and Redeemer hoping for everlasting
happiness in the world to come, my body to the Earth to be decently
buried in a Christian like manner, and for such worldly effects as
it hath pleased God to bestow on me in this life, I give, devise and
dispose of in the following manner, Item, I give and bequeath to my
Grandson John Watson one Bed tick and Sheet to him and his heirs
forever. Item I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Jane Reese my
Chest and one bed tick & one sheet and threat for two Gowns, and
cloth for one Gown to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and
bequeath to my Grandson David Lucas Watson one feather bed and bed
stead, two sheets and two Blankets to him and his heirs forever.
Item, I give and bequeath to my Granddaughter Nancy Edlow Watson my
red trunk and one Sheet and Cloth for one Gown and thread for one
Gown to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath to my
Granddaughter Elizabeth Watson one Sheet and Cloth for one Gown and
thread for one Gown to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and
bequeath to my Neese Rebekah Saunders my red Cardinal and thread for
two Gowns to her and her heirs forever. Item I give and bequeath
unto my daughter Edith Grigg and my three Grand Daughters Jane
Reese, Elizabeth Watson and Nancy Edlow Watson all my Cloths to be
equally divided between them. Item All the rest and residue of my
Estate that I not before metioned I desire may be equally divided
between my five Grandchildren To Wit, John Watson, Jane Reese,
Elizabeth Watson, Nancy Edlow Watson and David Lucas Watson and to
them and their heirs forever. I desire there may be no appraisement
of my Estate. I do appoint my Grand Son John Watson and Edward Perry
Reese Executors of this my last Will and Testament. In Witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 11th day of June
