In the name of God Amen, I Daniel Douglas of the County of Richmond and State of N. C. being in a weak state of health but of sound mind and memory, thanks be to God, do make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, viz. I give & bequeath unto my beloved son Angus the sum of Two shillings and Six pence in full of his share of my estate and to my oldest daughters Catherine McRae, Mary McKaskil, Flora McDonald, & Christian McPhail the sum of One Dollar to be equally divided between them, being their share of my estate.
I give and bequeath to my youngest daughters Margaret Wilkinson and Effy McDaniel the sum of two Shillings & Six pence each, being their Part of my estate.
I give & bequeath to my youngest daughter Christian Douglass One feather bed with its Furniture, Two cows and calves, One third of my stock of Sheep and one Moiety or half the Value of my Negro girl Chloe as her share or part of my estate.
Lastly I give, devise, & bequeath to my beloved Son Duncan Douglass all my Lands and Tenements my Negro boy Will or Billy and all other & singular the personal property of every description not particularly by this Will bequeathed or given to my Children already specified.
I do appoint my trusty Friends James Stewart and my Son Angus Douglass executors of this my last Will and Testament revoking and disannulling all former Wills and Testaments. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 13th day of August A.D. 1815.
Signed, sealed, published, pronounced and declared by said Daniel Douglas to be his last Will and Testament in our presence.

Inventory of the property left and Willed by Daniel Douglass (Deceased). Filed December 10, 1817, in Richmond Co., N. C.:
355 acres of land.
1 Negro boy - 1 Negro girl and two children - 5 Heads of Horses - 16 Heads of Cattle - 12 Heads of Sheep and 25 Heads of Hogs - Some Household Furniture & few farming Utensils - Decr 10th 1817
The above property was all left and willed to Duncan Douglass the son of the deceased except four Heads of Sheep - 4 Heads of Cattle, 1 Feater Bed & Furniture - 1 Spining Wheel and a pair of Cotton cards and a negroe child called rebecca or Becca which his Sister Christian agreed to take as Her equivalent Share of the Estate according to the Terms of the Will.

The petition of Mr. Douglas, most humbly Thr? that Your Petitioners Husband Angus Douglas departed this life in the month of July 1819 without making provision for his & her family by will or otherwise that Mr. Peter H. Cole at this term prays for and obtained letters of administration on the Estate of her said decd Husband. Your Petitioner prays that Your worship appoint One Justice of the peace & three fen holders to levy off to Your Petitioner & her family one years provisions out of the Estate Crop & Work of her decd Husband Agreeably to Act of Assembly & she as a duly bound will we pray.

Samuel McNeil, Judge of Probate Court of Neshoba County, MS, Petition of James McDonald of said county shows that James Lewis, late of Tuscaloosa Co, AL left a daughter Lavinia, a minor of about 11 years, who is now living in said county of Neshoba with her mother, Catharine Lewis, widow of said decedent, and the sister of your petitioner, that said Catharine is unwilling to become guardian of her said daughter and has requester your petitioner to do so, that said James Lewis left to said daughter Lavinia by last will and testament a legacy of $1500 now in hands of County guardian for Tuscaloosa Co. 27 Dec. 1853.

April 27, 1857, p. 488. James Lewis deceased with will annexed. James C. Spencer, admr to pay to Catherine Lewis, the widow $548.90, to children of decd 12 in number each $182.96. Children: Charles A., James Jr, Andrew J., George W., Wiley, Thomas, Mary Wetherford, Manerva Lyon, Sarah Williams, Martha (Mrs. Edmond) Parker, Margaret McCarty, Louisa Lewis. Administrator has paid Wesley, Thomas & Lousa Lewis each the sum of $182.96 as per receipts of Hugh McDonald, their guardian.
